Designer Fashion Market

The majority of customers who come to us all come with the same complaint:'I can't find anything different out there to wear!' After careful consideration and visiting many markets and sample sales we decided to start our own shopping event where CREATIVE, UNIQUE, one of a kind high quality fashion, shoes and accessories are housed. Not only is this an opportunity to highlight British talent, it also fills the gap in the market for unique and non commercial designer goods. We are looking for designers with unique and unusual products made to the highest quality. In addition to the sales, there will also be other social events such as fashion shows and buyer days when we will invite buyers from well known stores to privately view the designers' work. If you have been looking for an outlet and source to raise brand awareness and make money while doing so.....this is it! Please read below:

We are now accepting applications for our once a month FASHION EVENT. If you are a designer or creative type this is your opportunity to get exposure while making some money. This will be an indoor venue held the last Saturday of every month. Please call for more information. All goods must be high quality as being sold to the public. IF YOU HAVE TALENT......DON'T WASTE IT!! GET OUT THERE and BE SEEN!!! Limited spaces...apply now to avoid disappointment or call 079401 28959 to fast track the process.

Focus on fashion

DELFINA DELETTREZ....an interview with the designer jewelry maker

At only 24, jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez, who happens to be daughter of Silvia Fendi, proves with her latest and perhaps cheekiest collection that she's blazing a trail all her own. It was just a few years ago that the fashion crowd first became smitten with her surreal, conceptual, gothic, sometimes morbid sensibility. We caught up with the junior jeweler to talk stones, collaborations and phobias…

Your latest collection, Roll in Stones, seems to be built around the idea of motion. What sparked this curiosity?
I was deeply inspired by movement and would define the jewels as kinetic. I was also inspired by the idea that pieces could transform into other shapes. I love the idea that a rigid cuff can become soft by morphing into a fringe, or that a flat and skinny bangle can open up and blossom like a flower.

This collection also seems to be a more whimsical departure from your earlier, darker work. Why the change?
I'm growing up and I like to express myself in different ways than I have in the past. This collection is going into a more conceptual direction, but my love for gothic style is always present. I like having the total freedom to change and express myself as I mature.

Having shown your pieces on conveyer belts and taxidermy animals, you seem to put a lot of thought in the way your collections are shown. What can we expect to see next?
I think that the presentation [format] is a strong way to express the concept and creative inspiration behind every collection. I like to display the collection in magical and fantastical surroundings, as if the jewels were actors in a short movie. For the Roll in Stones collection, I was very inspired by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and also by Blade Runner. As far as what’s next, who knows!

Insects seem to figure into a lot of your work. Have you always been fascinated by insects?
I'm horrified by any insect! My phobia helps me a lot in my work and my work helps me to fight my phobia. Now, I find myself looking at these tiny robotic beasts with a different attitude. These insects now bring me good luck.

In just the past five years, you've put out eight collections, as well as a store in Rome, and you have quite the following. What will we see in the next five years?
More collections! In addition to my little boutique in Rome, I just opened a new atelier, where all of my jewels are handmade by Italian artisans. I'm also working on launching my e-shop. I'm also always open to new collaborations. I've collaborated with Causse on gloves, Alain Mikli on sunglasses, and Giuseppe Zanotti on shoes.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN: SAVAGE BEAUTY

It was a bustling scene outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art last week. A large production team hustled to get a sprawling white tent, red carpet and hundreds of fresh flowers ready for the Met's annual Costume Institute Gala, aka Met Gala, just hours away. Inside, members of the press gathered for a preview of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, a retrospective of the late designer's work spanning from his days as a student at Central St. Martins to his last runway show, held shortly after his suicide. His creative genius will truly be missed but I am more than certain he is smiling down at Kate Burton's intent to carry on the legacy of the McQueen brand.

What they wore.....guests caught on camera at the Alexander McQueen tribute

Among the guests were...Karl Lagerfeld, Daphne Guiness, Salma Hayek, Natasha Poly, Robert Duffy, Gisele Bundchen, Blake Lively, and Florence Welch to name a few.....

DAPHNE GUINNESS...a live mannequin??

A floating, fleeting Daphne Guinness graced the windows of Barneys New York for a performance-art piece in which she "dressed" for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. The couture-collecting, shock-haired heiress entered the window display slowly like a swan, positioned herself behind a scrim and changed into a pale-gray duck and ostrich feather gown designed by Alexander McQueen. When she had finished her metamorphosis, she was whisked away to the Met Gala in a chauffeured, open-top luxury car.
